Seniors
Strathcona County is home to a generation that models hard work, vitality and care for others. Together, we are creating a community that is connected, safe, affordable and accessible for older adults.
Seniors Supports and Services Project update
On September 7, 2021, Administration presented findings from the needs assessment component of the Seniors’ Supports and Services Project.
The update is part Administration’s response to Council’s direction to produce a report, by the end of 2021, on options for establishing a seniors’ hub. The overall focus of this initiative is age-friendly approaches to mental health, well-being, recreation, transit, housing, volunteerism, facilities and gathering spaces.

Accessible: We are a healthy community that
understands the importance of being active at all ages and abilities.

Affordable: Our community values affordable access, including reduced transit fares for seniors.
